The FiberConnect is the ultimate time saving solution for coupling unterminated fiber or optical components to test equipment. By allowing the user to perform optical measurements without terminating, which requires additional equipment and procedures, test time can be significantly reduced over 50% compared to other methods. The low loss and highly repeatable connection made using the FiberConnect is similar to that of connectorized fiber.
The FiberConnect contains a precision glass ferrule that is permanently aligned to a connectorized cable assembly. Available in multiple configurations, the FiberConnect is suited for a variety of multimode or single-mode applications. It is offered with UPC or APC polish in an assortment of connector styles. For added convenience, the FiberConnect can be attached to a smooth surface with either the integrated magnetic mount or the supplied suction-cup base.
The FiberConnect is extremely easy-to-use — only a single drop of index matching oil is required. The fiber to be tested is stripped, and cleaned and cleaved, then inserted into the unit until the end face meets the permanently mounted fiber. The result is a low loss, low reflectance connection optimal for any testing application.
